This was my first original delivery van, as many others I got it from eBay, pre war Dinky toys rarely come in the shops in France...
Once one begins a collection of items known as very rare, enthusiasm is always here when the first bricks come over. This Ovaltine van means a lot for me, I was really moved when I got it and months after I've realized there was something special with it.
Something I'd already noticed but not that much. Getting the other ones and comparing, it's obvious there's no "fatigue" at all.
Nothing !

Look at it, it has some nicks in the paint, but it doesn't show any damage, the casting is totally sound !
Even the best exemple I own aren't free of the zinc pest, they grew. It's not noticeable at first glance, but when I tried to pack them in the beautiful trade box I acquired recently, I couldn't have done anything but break them if I had tried to put them in. They had become too large.
This is the only one that goes in the box without any trouble.
If this is not a proof ...
Ovaltine (also known as Ovomaltine) is a brand of milk flavoring product made with maltextract introduced in Switzerland in 1904. After more than a hundred years, one can still drink some !
