Switzerland and Belgium despite their common boundaries with France, imported more british Dinky toys than French ones. In the fifties those countries even had special catalogues with both sides of the pond's material.
This brown and blue tourer comes from Belgium where it's been found in an old and dusty attic, It's a little play worn and scuffy but globally it's a very nice little toy with a very sound casting free of the distortions usally found on those pre war Dinky toys.
A pre 36 series era copy from 1937 recognizable by its 2nd type hubs which used to be plated a long time ago, mixed with a type 1 grille and a second type windscreen. A uncommon variation indeed.
The hubs show some remains of the chrome plating. I'm not really sure the hubs had chrome, they must have been silver plated as the grilles were. One has to remember that nickel and even more chrome, were hugely expensive in those days. Silver was the cheapest option for grillesand... certainly hubs.
However as it's always refered as chrome, let's keep saying chrome...
